Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device. Local storage is a similar feature that lets a site remember simple settings in your browser. This page explains what we use, and how you can change your choice.
What do we store without asking?
We only store what's essential for the site to work as you'd expect. We use your browser's local storage, not cookies, for two settings:
- Your theme choice (light or dark mode), so the site looks the way you picked.
- Your cookie choice, so we don't ask you again on every page.
Neither is used to track you, and neither is sent to us.
Which cookies need your consent?
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages help readers. Its cookies are only set after you accept analytics. If you decline, Google Analytics does not load at all.
What about affiliate cookies?
When you click an affiliate link, you leave our site. The provider or its affiliate network may then set a cookie on their site, so they can tell us if you signed up. We don't set these cookies, and they follow the provider's own cookie policy. Read more in our affiliate disclosure.

How do you change your choice?
Click the "Cookie settings" button in the footer of any page. You can accept or decline analytics at any time. If you withdraw consent, we stop loading Google Analytics. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
